US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced his outlay for the 2026 and listed his achievements in a key address to the nation. For most part of his speech, he blamed his predecessor Joe Biden and the Democrats for “mismanagement” and pushing the country to the “brink of ruin”. He said: “One year ago, our country was dead. Now, we are the hottest country in the world.”
Claiming that zero illegal aliens in US in seven months, he said he inherited a “mess” from Biden when he came back to power. “We inherited the worst border and turned it into the strongest,” he said.
He said US was laughed at under the Biden regime, but the world has now come to respect the nation under him. “We had the worst trade deals ever made and our country was laughed at from all over the world. But they’re not laughing anymore… Over the past 11 months we have brought more positive change to Washington than any administration in American history. There’s never been anything like it, and I think most would agree,” he said
Trump on stopping ‘wars’
In his speech Trump stuck to his oft-repeated claim: that he settled eight “wars” in 10 months. He said that he destroyed the Iran nuclear threat and ended the war in Gaza and brought peace for the first time in 3,000 years and secured the release of the hostages, both living and dead. However, in his claim of stopping eight wars, he includes the India-Pakistan conflict after the Pahalgam terror attack. India has consistently denied the US’ involvement in the process to call of Operation Sindoor and maintained that it was completely an independent decision by the Indian forces to cease fire.
Trump on healthcare cost in US
Trump, who has received flak over pushing to end federal healthcare subsidies, said he is working on non-binding agreements with pharmaceutical companies to bring down the expenses of medical drugs. “There has never been anything like this in the history of our country. Drugs [prices] have only gone up, but now they’ll be going down by numbers never conceived possible,” Trump said. He said the impact of his policies will be seen in January 2026 as prices of medicines come down.
Trump on immigrants
Trump continued his targeting of “illegal aliens” and blamed them for rising employment and housing problems. “Illegal aliens stole American jobs and flooded emergency rooms getting free health care and education paid for by you – the American taxpayer. They also increased the cost of law enforcement by numbers so high that they are not even to be mentioned,” Trump said.
Trump on tax refunds
Trump said that the next spring in 2026 is projected to be largest tax refund season. Under his tax cut policies, families will be saving between $11,000 and $20,000.

He also announced 10,450,000 military personnel will receive a special “warrior dividend” of $1,776.
