US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that he is terminating all the documents, including proclamations, executive orders signed by his predecessor former President Joe Biden that have been signed using autopen, Reuters reported.
The autopen is a device used to replicate a person’s signature with precision, typically for high-volume or ceremonial documents. The autopen has been used by presidents from both, Democratic and Republican parties to sign letters and proclamations.
Trump and his MAGA supporters have made claims in the past without providing any evidence that Biden’s use of autopen while being the president invalidated his actions and even suggested that he wasn’t aware of these actions being carried out under his name. Though it remains unknown if Biden used autopen for the pardons he granted during hi tenure.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized “AUTOPEN,” within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect.”
The US president further added, “Anyone receiving “Pardons, Commutations,” or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect.”

Before leaving the Oval Office in January earlier this year, former President Biden issued several pardons, including for his family members whom he wanted to protect from politically motivated investigations. The Democrat leader also commuted sentences, including for non-violent drug offenders.

Trump has also questioned Biden’s mental fitness and said that Democratic leader’s aides made key decisions and not him. However, Biden and his former aides have refuted these claims, Reuters reported.
