Several explosions were heard at the site today where Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov was killed by a car bomb on Monday, the news agency reported quoting Baza and SHOT Telegram channels.
According to witnesses, a car detonated, Baza and SHOT, which have sources in Russia’s law enforcement agencies, reported.
Soon after the blast, Russia opened a criminal case, the country’s State Investigative Committee stated.
Reuters was not able to independently verify the reports. There is no official confirmation from Russian authorities about the incident yet.
