As the US Department of Justice (DOJ) released the third tranche of documents related to the probe into convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, many of the victims who fought for years make them public are becoming increasingly disappointed by the manner in which it is being carried out.

One of them, Haley Robson, who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, now says she wants the US President impeached over his handling of the Epstein probe.

‘I redact my support’

“I redact any support I’ve ever given to him, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel,” Robson told CNN.

I am so disgusted with this administration. I think that Pam Bondi and Kash Patel both need to resign, and I would love to see number 47 get impeached over this. And I’m just waiting,” she added.

Epstein Files Transparency Act

Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed by the US Congress on November 19, the DOJ was legally required to make all unclassified Epstein-related records available in a searchable and downloadable format within 30 days.

On December 19, on the last day of the deadline, the DOJ made around 3,900 files public, out of which over 550 pages were entirely redacted. In two subsequent releases, the DOJ released thousands more files related to the Epstein probe.

According to EFTA, the DOJ could only redact documents to protect victim identities, active federal investigations, national security, or child sexual abuse materials.

However, critics and many victims have accused the DOJ of selectively releasing the documents, including a large number of photos of former US President Bill Clinton, while making fewer mentions of Trump.

Victims demand congressional action

On Monday, more than a dozen survivors of Jeffrey Epstein demanded immediate congressional action over the selective release of files, which they said failed to comply with the law.

“We call upon Congress to stand up for the rule of law. We urge immediate congressional oversight, including hearings, formal demands for compliance, and legal action, to ensure the Department of Justice fulfills its legal obligations,” the joint statement signed by 18 Epstein survivors said.

“This is not a partisan issue. Just as the Epstein Files Transparency Act was supported across party lines, we now ask elected officials from both parties to take decisive action to enforce the law, compel full compliance, and ensure meaningful transparency without further delay.”
