The fourth edition of the South African T20 franchise league, the SA20 got underway on Boxing Day, Friday as the rainbow nation gears up for yet another exciting season of cricket. MI Cape Town are the defending champions, having beaten inaugural champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the final.

Six sides — Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Durban Super Giants, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Paarl Royals and Pretoria Capitals — will play 30 league games in a double round robin format.

After the end of the group stage, the top-four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The top-two ranked teams will play Qualifier 1 for a spot in the final, while the third-placed and the fourth-placed sides will face each other in the Eliminator and the winner of this contest will take on the loser of Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 match.

The final will be played on January 25, 2026.
