An American YouTuber and lawyer has caused outrage on social media for a disgusting comment, mocking the death of Prashant Sreekumar, an Indian-origin man in Canada who died in a hospital after waiting for eight hours to get medical attention.

Andrew Branca, who is said to be an expert on self-defense law, called Kumar ‘another Indian invader of Canada’.

“I note that she and her husband could have easily avoided the shitty Canadian healthcare by staying in Mumbai and enjoying the shitty Indian healthcare,” Branca said on X while quoting a graph showing the net immigration to Canada from 1952 to 2025.

Branca’s hate towards Indians is not new

This is not the first time Branca, who is described as a MAGA influencer, has spewed venom against Indians.

Branca, who hosts The Andrew Branca Show on YouTube, had recently targeted Indians in the US, saying that those on H-1B visas should be deported, even if they pay $100,000.

“Even if it were true that every Indian deported or not brought in on an H1B somehow costs the US economy $100,000 in taxes paid or whatever—and it’s not—I would still deport,” he said on X.

Many X users called out Branca for his disgusting tweet. But Branca has doubled down and is mocking Indians who are criticising him.

He has also posted several posts on X disparaging India, including terming the country as “third-world tumor of graft and fraud and degeneracy.”

Death of Prashant Sreekumar

44-year-old Sreekumar died on December 22 at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Canada’s Edmonto where he was taken to after complaining about severe chest pain.

According to his family, despite repeatedly complaining about unbearable chest pain, the hospital staff played it down. His father, who was accompanying Sreekumar, said the hospital staff given him Tylenol as he was kept waiting.

Sreekumar allegedly waited for around eight hours before he was called into the treatment area. But it was too late, and Sreekumar collapsed and died of an apparent cardiac arrest.

Reacting to Sreekumar’s death, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday said the Canadian government should take responsibility in the matter.

“The person is of Indian origin, but he happens to be a Canadian national. So, obviously, the government of Canada should take responsibility in this particular matter,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
