The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to usher in a new phase of leadership as senior party leaders have nominated Nitin Nabin for the post of national president, making him the youngest leader ever to head the party.
Top BJP leaders, including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Rajnath Singh, were present at the party headquarters in New Delhi as Nabin filed his nomination, reflecting strong consensus within the organisation.
At 45, Nitin Nabin — a five-time MLA from Bihar’s Bankipur constituency — emerged as the sole candidate for the top post, paving the way for his unopposed election. His elevation is seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to strengthen organisational leadership by promoting younger faces while maintaining ideological continuity.
Party sources say the move is aimed at energising the cadre and enhancing the BJP’s outreach to India’s youth ahead of upcoming electoral challenges. Nabin has previously served in key organisational roles and is regarded as a disciplined leader with strong grassroots connect.
The formal announcement and assumption of charge are expected soon, marking a significant milestone in the BJP’s organisational history.
