Adam the Woo, a popular YouTuber known for his travel videos, has died at the age of 51. He was found unresponsive at his home in Celebration, Florida, on December 22.

“The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there,” a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told PEOPLE in a statement. “Deputies then responded back to the location for an unattended death at 2:53 pm. A friend had borrowed a ladder and looked in the 3rd story window to see a male on a bed that was not moving. Upon entering the residence with Fire Rescue, the male was reported deceased.”

Who was Adam the Woo?

Adam the Woo, whose real name is David Adam Williams, is considered a YouTube pioneer and was one of the first major creators who did “theme park vlogging.”

Williams started posting on YouTube in 2009 on his AdamTheWoo channel, about abandoned sites, pop culture landmarks and theme parks around Central Florida.

In 2012, he created his most popular channel, The Daily Woo, where he posted vlogs about his visits to theme parks and other travels.

Pioneered theme park vlogging

Considered a Disney expert by many, Adam was known for his Disney and theme park videos where he would walk through Disneyland and Walt Disney World, giving viewers detailed tours.

Williams posted his last video also on The Daily Woo, which showed Christmas decorations in Celebration, Florida, on December 21.

Williams, who was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, used to play bass for the punk rock band Guttermouth before his YouTube career.
